This calculation ignores areas of lift. It also ignores your top and bottom 20% of results.
What you see is your actual Median GR for the flight. This will vary depending on conditions.
It tries to calculate the wind and compensate for it, if you fly a large square box with 2km sides you get accurate results. If you fly mostly downwind it will be optimistic, if you are into wind/cross wind it will be pessimistic.
Your GR is affected by your Reynolds number, so larger heavier paragliders tend to do better.
Your harness type and seating position can change the result by up to 2 points.
How you fly matters. Don't hang your arms on the brakes. Don't stay in sink.
The numbers you see are the actual real world numbers from your flight. If you think your wing should be performing better then find another good pilot on Xcontest who is flying the same wing and try analysing some of his flights. You might be surprised to discover the reason for the lower performance is you!
